Alma Louise Moore Roberts of Waco, passed away peacefully surrounded by family on June 15, 2026 at Providence Hospital, at the age of 94.
Alma was born May 16, 1932 in Elk, Texas to Joseph and Annie Pavelka. In June of 1950 she met and married the love of her life, George Allen Moore. They were blessed with four boys: Dale Edward, George Allen, Dennis Ray and Gary Wayne. Alma and George were married for 42 years until his death in April of 1993. Alma was employed as a cafeteria cook for Axtell school while her boys were young. She later went to work as a glass selector for Owens Illinois Glass Plant where she was a faithful worker for 18 years before retiring.
Alma loved cooking, quilting and sewing for her family and friends. She was a lifelong member of St. Josephs Catholic Church in Elk. Alma loved dancing at Sul Ross Senior Center where she first met Mr. Jake Roberts. They both enjoyed the dances on Saturday nights were later married until Jake's death in 2011.
Alma is survived by her sons, Dale Moore and wife, Vicki, George Moore and wife, Judy, and Dennis Moore and wife, Debbie; seven grandchildren, 11 great grandchildren, 19 great great grandchildren and one on the way. Alma was preceded in death by her husbands, George Moore and Jake Roberts, son, Gary Moore, daughter in law, Patricia, her parents and eight siblings.
She will be remembered as a woman of faith and a hard worker. Alma's legacy of love, strength and compassion will continue to live on in the hearts that knew her.
Family and friends are invited to gather in remembrance and celebration of Alma's life at 10:00 a.m. Friday, June the 19th, 2026 at St. Josephs Catholic Church in Elk with Father Walter Dahnwar as celebrant. Interment to follow in the church cemetery. Visitation will be held from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. Thursday June the 18th, 2026 with the rosary being recited at 6:00 p.m.
In lieu of flowers, Alma asked that donations be sent in her name to St. Josephs Catholic Church in Elk.
The family extends their heartfelt gratitude to everyone who have offered love, prayers and support during this difficult time.
Pallbearers will be Stephen Moore, Jeff Moore, Brandon Moore, Troy Dobecka, Braden Moore and Chris Brantner. Honorary pallbearers include Jarod Moore and Alma's great grandsons and great great grandsons.
