Betty Ruth Neugent

Betty Ruth Neugent, lovingly known as Memaw, passed away peacefully on January 15, 2026, at the age of 96. Born on August 29, 1929, she was deeply loved by her family and will be missed by all who knew her.

She was the daughter of Raymond Carl Bilbo Sr. and Lady Mae Wilson. Betty was preceded in death by her siblings Eugene Wilson, Alice Hathaway, Linda Lewis, her son Tommy Taylor; and her beloved great-grandson Hunter Paige.

She is survived by her sisters Nancy McGuire, Glinda Avery and brother Raymond Bilbo Jr.; her children Judy Matthews, Brenda Jorgenson, and Troy Taylor and his wife Sherry Taylor. She is also survived by her grandchildren Velicity Jones and Nicole Jones, and her great-grandchildren Hailey McCollum and her wife Marley Clinton, Brinley Jones, Jaden Paige, and Blaise Questelle.

Betty had a love for reading and music and found her greatest joy alongside her late husband and the love of her life, Earl. They met at a senior citizens’ dance and shared a deep bond through singing and dancing together several times a week. Their love story was filled with laughter, companionship, and enduring devotion.

Betty Ruth Neugent will be deeply missed and forever remembered.

In lieu of services, the family will hold a private celebration of life. Those wishing to express condolences may do so by sharing memories and messages with the family.
