Doris Norris

Doris Norris, age 84, passed away Saturday, November 15, 2025. A graveside funeral will be held 1:00 p.m. Friday, November 21, 2025 at Chapel Hill Memorial Park with Rev. Lester Adams officiating.

Doris was born June 18, 1941 in Greenville, South Carolina, the only child of Walter and Edith (Nalley) Dreher. She married Benjamin R. Norris October 5, 1960 in Columbia, South Carolina and they were married 54 years. Benjamin and Doris did lots of traveling as Benjamin served in the United States Army for 21 years. They made their home in Lacy Lakeview and Doris worked in a child care facility for many years.

Doris is preceded in death by her parents and her husband in 2015.

She is survived by her four children, Glenda Girard and husband, Billy, Ann Fabian and husband, Glenn, Benjy Norris and wife, Laura and Shelley Gartman and husband, Keith; Eleven grandchildren, eight great grandchildren and many other extended family members.
