Florence Black

Florence Black, age 86, passed away Sunday April 5, 2026. Graveside services will be 1:00 pm Thursday, April 9, 2026 at Oakwood Cemetery.

She was born July 20, 1939 in Waco the daughter of Clayton and Lerah Thomas. Florence had a strong faith in Jesus and was a very loving person. Even though she was very strong willed and independent, she was willing to ask for help. She was a seamstress who loved sewing and crocheting and would teach others. Florence also built mobile homes and worked in the school cafeteria.

Florence was preceded in death by her parents; first husband, Willie Eisenberg; second husband, L. E. Black; brothers, Jack Thomas, John Thomas and George Thomas; and sister, Nancy Oakes. 

Survivors include her sisters, Veler Bruner and Kathy Clemmens; brother, Richard Thomas; many nieces and nephews. Although she had no children,  she treated her nieces and nephews as her own.
