Fred Bourgeois, 87, of Elm Mott, passed away Tuesday, May 5, 2026.
Fred was born on Dec. 19, 1938 in Houston, TX to Paul Bourgeois and Florence Ola Hargrave Bourgeois. He worked in the Conroe, Tx area before moving to Teague area where he worked for Lide Tank Company in Mexia. Later he would go into private trucking in the Houston area until 1991. Fred would then go to work for Falls County Road & Bridge for over 10 years before retiring . He then volunteered at Geneva Hall in Elm Mott for many years and made many friends.
He was a member of St. Josephs Catholic Church in Bellmead. Fred loved farming , working with his cows, playing cards, dominos and dancing.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Paul and Florence Bourgeios; five brothers; five sisters and a daughter, Laura Jo Marie Kashdan.
Fred is survived by a special friend, Clara Grones of Elm Mott and her family; sister, Eunice Drobina of Houston; sons, Bruce Alan Bourgeois of Austin; Fred Eugene Bourgeois and wife Jen of Missouri; daughter, Carol Sampson of Groesbeck; grandchildren, Jeffery Kashdan and family of Ohio, Krystal Giannelli and family of Ohio, as well as 3 other grandsons from Ohio, Karrissa Peterson and husband Jeremy of Dallas, Patrick Sampson, Dalton Sampson and Ethan Sampson all of Rosebud; one great-grand child, Sawyer Peterson of Dallas; as well as numerous step children and step grandchildren; several nieces, nephews and cousins.
