Homer Campbell Harwell Senior, born July 21 1939 to John Henry Harwell and Winnie Mae Campbell passed away June 23, 2026.
It is with heavy hearts and profound sadness to announce the passing of Homer Campbell Harwell Sr. He was a man that fully believed in Christ and held tight to his morals, integrity and always had a firm handshake to seal a deal. He touched the hearts of countless people that to this day regard him with trusts, utter respect, and admiration. Throughout his life he inspired every one he came into contact with. He loved raising livestock such as poultry, Emus, and greyhounds. He was a fountain of wisdom and knowledge in spite of only passing the 6th grade. He left school to help the family and the farm after his father's tragic passing. He eventually went on to work at the glass plant, Owen Illinois for 18+ years where he met his wife, Betty Mickler and where from he eventually retired. He would not want us to mourn his passing, but to take heart in his teachings, love of Christ and to celebrate his life.
He is preceded in death by his father John Henry Harwell, His mother Winnie Campbell Harwell, His two sons Homer Harwell Jr "HC", and Duane Harwell, as well as his 6 siblings. Ruby, Goldie, Evelyn, Betty, Sue, and Johnny.
He is survived by his wife Betty Harwell, his sons Cameron Harwell Sr. and Chapan Harwell and daughter in-law Christy Marie Harwell, His step children Tammy Wade, Trisha Maddox, and Larry Weatherford as well as his many other grandchildren, Tristen Harwell and Desiree Harwell, Justin Harwell and wife Jennifer, Ashlie Suter and husband Michael, Cameron Dale Harwell Jr. and his wife Gabby, Caith Aaron Harwell and Carrick Campbell Harwell, as well as 11 great grandchildren. He was a mountain of a man and the soul to our family. He will be unbelievably missed.
