Janie Kromer

Janie Colene Kromer, 95, of Lorena passed away September 1, 2025. A funeral will be held 10:00 a.m. Saturday, September 6, 2025 at Bellmead Funeral Home, 809 LaClede, Bellmead, Texas with a private burial to follow. A viewing will be held from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Friday, September 5 at the funeral home.

Janie, mostly known as Colene, was born on November 26, 1929 to Milbern and Alma (Collins) Jones in the small town of Prairie Hill, Texas. She had three brothers and three sisters, whom she loved dearly. She had a special bond with the sister that shared the same birthdate, her twin, Maxine whom she will be laid to rest next to.

Colene wore many hats and was a very busy business woman. She was a beauty operator for many years owning several shops of her own. She had contracts with several nursing homes doing their residents hair. She had a great passion and patience for the elderly to make them look and feel nice. Colene was a proud member of the American Legion and served several positions within the organization.

Colene loved to travel, collect porcelain dolls and dishes, attend family reunions, entertain folks, eat good food and reminisce of old times.

Colene was preceded in death her parents,; her siblings, VaNell, Maxine, James, Blondell and Jerry; her first husband, Buddy Watkins and her most recent husband, Kelly Kromer.

She is survived by her only daughter, Janie Renee Pace and only grandson, Shawn Riley Pace; her sister, Jeanette and many nieces and nephews.
