Joe Wayne Terral, 70, of Axtell, passed away on Sunday, May 18, 2025. Joe was born on October 2, 1954 in San Antonio, Texas to Joe and Marie (Walser) Terral.
Joe grew up in the Timbercrest addition of Waco and accepted Christ as his personal savior at an early age. The last few months of his life, Joe realized his need for God and reaffirmed his belief in Him. He was a member of Timbercrest Baptist Church and was also a member of the Timberteens as a teenager, traveling all over the United States singing in churches.
Joe was a 1973 graduate of La Vega High School. He was a lifelong carpenter, building many houses, especially in Hewitt. Joe loved working with wood and working with his hands and could build anything. He loved being with his grandsons Eric and Michael and is now reunited with them in heaven. Joe also loved to read. He was a lifelong learner with a very inquisitive mind wanting to learn all he could. He especially loved history, with the history of the west his favorite.
Joe had many lifelong friends. He was a great friend who was always willing to help those he cared for. His closest friends included Mike Reeves, Billy Abraham, Sammy Tullos, Harold Ferguson, Wendell Clark, Terry Downs, Max Burnett, Denise Venuti, and Rev. Gerry Davis.
Joe was preceded in death by his father, Joe V. Terral, and grandsons Eric Joseph and Michael Ray Terral. He is survived by his mother, Marie Terral, son Dustin and wife Jennifer, granddaughter Kathleen Marie Juarez and husband Joe, great grandchildren lzabell, Joseph, and Ozella, sister Becky, brothers Tony and wife Patti, Jeff and wife Yolanda, Darel and wife Dixie, special cousin Patti Russell Ridley and numerous nephews and nieces.
Visitation will be at Bellmead Funeral Home on Monday, May 26 from 5-7 pm. Burial will be at Moore Cemetery on Tuesday, May 27, at 1:00 with the Reverend Gerry Davis officiating. Pallbearers will be Dustin Terral, Tony Terral, Jeff Terral, and Darel Terral.
Honorary pallbearers will be Mike Reeves, Terry Downs, Harold Ferguson, Wendell Clark, and Max Burnett.
The family would like to thank Baylor Scott and White rehab and oncology, Lutheran Sunset Ministries, and Lutheran Sunset Hospice for their care and support of Joe in his last months.
