Katherine Irene Caddell

Katherine Irene Caddell, 84, passed away peacefully on May 20, 2026, in Waco, Texas.

Katherine was born on January 22, 1942, in Rosebud-Lott, Texas, to Sam and Annie Baty. Some knew her as Irene, others knew her as Kathy, and family usually called her Reenie. She spent many years babysitting, raising animals for pet shops, raising goats and sheep, and working at Skatin’ Place. In her spare time, she loved being outside tending to her animals. She loved to talk, never met a stranger, and was a lifelong Elvis Presley fan.

Katherine married James Lynn Caddell on June 27, 1959. Together they shared 67 years of marriage and raised three daughters: Barbara, Becky, and Brenda.

Katherine is survived by her husband, James Lynn Caddell; daughters Barbara Lynn Fox and husband Bill, Becky Roxanna Flanagan, and Brenda Kay Vandiver and husband Bert; and five grandchildren: Hannah and Gavin Flanagan, and Ben, Brooklyn, and Brinley Bennett. She also leaves behind her sister, Annie Lou Stone and husband Gene.She was preceded in death by her parents, Sam and Annie Baty; her brothers, Johnny and George; and her sisters, Lois, Nadine, and Pauline.

A burial service will be held on Saturday, May 23, 2026, at 2:00 PM at Hillcrest Cemetery, 206 Hwy. 147 in Marlin, Texas.
