Linda Faye House, 72, of Elm Mott, TX passed away peacefully at the Ascension Providence Hospital in Woodway, Sunday afternoon, October 5, 2025 as 5:29, surrounded by her family.
Linda Faye Walker was the 4th child born to Mr. Finis Walker, Jr., & Mrs. Claressie (Harris) Walker on Monday, April 20, 1953 in Chalk Bluff, TX
Linda was raised throughout her childhood in Elm Mott, attending elementary school through the 6th grade at Dunbar school in West "West Station", and then during school integration transferred to Connally Jr. High in Lacy-Lakeview, where she attended through the high school, graduating with the class of 1972.
Linda united in Christian Discipleship in 1963 with the New Zion Baptist Church, Elm Mott, TX, under the leadership of Rev. G.L. Hall, where as a youth, and throughout adulthood was heavily active in the Youth, Jr., and Sr. Choirs.
Linda welcomed her one, and only son, Kevin Wayne Walker on June 4, 1970, and he preceded her in death on November 8, 2008.
Before moving to Waco, the former Miss Linda Faye Walker married Mr. Charles Lee House on September 14, 1974. Shortly after, Linda embarked on a career in the health field that spanned 18 years as a Certified Nursing Assistant at Quality Care of Waco, and then in 1997, embarked in a different career choice in retail, and customer service with the H-E-B Deli at the Wooded Acres location in Waco, retiring from the latter in 2017. Mrs. House thoroughly enjoyed both professions by providing assistance, and executing her skills, while at the same time encountering various people throughout the span of these careers.
Mrs. House is preceded in death by her only son, Kevin Walker; parents, Mr. and Mrs. Finis Walker Jr.; sister, Gloria Diane Thomas; brother, William Maurice Walker; and one nephew, Fedrick Thomas.
She is survived by two sisters: Lois Douglas of Waco, Joyce (Jimmie) Black of Bellmead, and brothers: Anthony Walker of Bellmead, Dwain (Gold L.) Walker of the Valley Mills, and Rodney Walker of Waco; as well as a host of nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, other relatives, and friends.
Ms. Linda will truly be remembered by her quiet demeanor, heartwarming spirt, impeccable culinary, and craft skills, as well as enjoying a travel, or two as a pastime to near by casinos, but most of all her love will always remain with us for a lifetime.
The family of Mrs. House would like to extend the sincerest gratitude to the staff at the Atrium of Bellmead, The Ascension Providence Hospice staff of Woodway, loyal friends: Mrs. Elizabeth McDowell, Mrs. Anita Harris, and Mr. Scott McCreary, Sr., and devoted nieces/nephews; Traci Douglas, Katina Walker, Jimmie Black, Jr. and Devin Douglas.
