Nancy Carol Oakes

Nancy Carol Oakes, 77, passed away Sunday, March 8, 2026.

She was born on April 13, 1948 to William and Lerah Thomas. Nancy was born and raised in Waco, TX and graduated from Waco High School in 1966. After school, she became a loving mother and worked as a Lab Technician for 30 years. Nancy enjoyed her job very much and was loved by many co-workers. She was a resident of Bellmead, TX for 27 years.

Nancy was reunited with her daughter, Tracy Porter; parents, William and Lerah Thomas; and brothers, William Thomas, John Thomas and George Thomas in heaven.

Left to cherish her memory is her daughter, Robin Hess married to Brent Hess; son, Ronnie Porter married to Leasha Porter; her grandchildren, Kelsey Hess, Zachery Hess, Skyla Diserens, Aubrey Porter, Kaylee Herring and Emalee Herring and her great-grandaughter, Violet Diserens. Nancy is also loved by Darlene Bruner, Florence Black, Kathy Clemmens, Richard Thomas and lots of Nieces and nephews. 

During her life, Nancy was a wonderful mother, grandmother, sister and friend. She will be dearly missed.
