Neill O. Purvis

Neill Orand Purvis was born April 18, 1937 in Waco, Texas and went to be with his Lord on January 4, 2026 at his residence at Waco Healthcare in Waco, Texas.

Neill, 88, is survived by his sister-n-law Mary Schantz and many specially loved nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews, and special friends.

He was preceded in death by son Kenneth Ray Purvis and wife Wilhelmine Purvis of Waco, parents Homer and Thelma Purvis of Waco, brother W.H. Purvis, sister Rosanne Lowry, and brother W. A. ‘Dub’ Purvis.

Born to Homer and Thelma Purvis, Neill grew up mostly in Bellmead – a suburb of Waco - helping his dad with farming, painting, and construction. He graduated from Connally High School in 1955.

March 8th, Wilhelmine Thiele in Waco, Texas where they continued to reside together the rest of their lives. On June 15, 1961, they were blessed by the arrival of their beloved son, Kenneth Ray.

Neill worked for his dad and as independent handyman in painting and general construction. With a gifted mind for constructing and engineering, Neill was known for unique designs, including building his family home. He was spotlighted on Waco news for constructing his golf clubs and golf cart self-tailored to account for his physical disabilities. After hours and in retirement, Neill enjoyed wood working in his shop, >shing, and smoking his pipe.

Neill and his family were members of Waco Methodist Church and loved by many. Special thanks to his caregivers over the last many years
