Peggy Ruth (Vicha) Dieterich

Peggy Ruth (Vicha) Dieterich, 82, passed away peacefully in her home Monday, July 7, 2025. Visitation will be held July 12, 2025 at 11:00A.M. with memorial services following at 12:00 P.M. at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Bellmead with Pastor Brian Hesse officiating.

Peggy was born June 30, 1943 in Elk, Texas to Rudolph and Lydia (Adamek) Vicha in a little red house just across the street from where she has lived for the past 52 years. She attended Elk School until transferring to Axtell High School where she graduated in 1961. Peggy attended Waco Beauty School and received her licence in January 1962. Peggy married Erwin Henry Dieterich on October 13, 1962. Peggy worked in the Cafeteria at Axtell High School in the 1970’s then went to work for Waco Orthopedic Clinic in October of 1980 and retired October 30, 2009 after 29 years of service. She was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church in Bellmead for over 50 years.

She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband, Erwin. She is survived by her daughter, Sondra (Dieterich) Shaeffer; her grandaughter Erin Shaeffer; her sisters, Janie Lehrmann of Axtell, Tx and Diana Kuehl Kubitza and husband Freddie of Waco, Tx; her brother, Jerry Vicha and wife Leslie of Axtell, Tx; her sister-in-laws, Arlene Dieterich of Waco, Tx; Deanna Hooper of Houston, Tx; Delores Martin of Waco, Tx; her brother-in-law, Gene Dieterich and wife Sallie of Rowlett, Tx; several nieces, nephews and cousins.

The family would like to express a special thank you to the staff and doctors at Texas Oncology, Ascension Providence Hospital and Community Health Care of Texas Hospice for all their care and support.
