Robert Huggins

Msgt. Robert "Bob" Gerald Huggins, USAF, Ret., beloved husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, and friend, passed away after a life filled with service, family, and the simple joys he cherished.

Bob was born on October 9, 1947, in Lumberton, North Carolina, to Leroy and Sara Lee Huggins. He graduated from Lumberton High School and went on to dedicate more than two decades of his life to serving his country in the United States Air Force, where he served from 1965 to 1986.

Following his military service, Bob continued his commitment to helping others. He spent 27 years working with the Central Texas Veterans Administration in the Health Tech-PTSD Program, where his dedication and compassion touched the lives of many veterans.

Bob was a man who appreciated the outdoors and the things that brought him peace and enjoyment. He was an avid fisherman and hunter and could often be found enjoying his favorite television programs, especially Westerns and Jeopardy!. He enjoyed watching the Dallas Cowboys football team. He was also a huge Baylor Bears fan, with a particular love for Baylor women's basketball.

Above all, Bob treasured his family. He is survived by his wife, Debbie Huggins; his children, Gerald Huggins and wife Nereyda, Melissa Huggins, Amanda Smart, and Lisa Warschak and husband Kenneth; and his grandchildren, Bethaney Wilder and husband Chris, Brittney Warren, Ryan Huggins, William Monthie, Jackson Monthie, Elizabeth Warschak, and Emma Monthie. He was also blessed with two great-grandchildren, Emma Warren and Jase Huggins, and many nieces and nephews.

He is survived by his siblings, Sara Ann Rogers, Diane Ash, Roy Huggins, and Faye Taylor. He was preceded in death by his parents and sister, Jean Rogers.

Bob will be remembered for his dedication to his country, his commitment to fellow veterans, his love of the outdoors, his loyalty to his Baylor Bears, and, most importantly, his love for his family. His legacy will live on through the many lives he touched and through the family he loved so dearly.

He will be deeply missed and forever remembered.
