Shirley Mae Weir, born Shirley Mae Cornett, passed away peacefully surrounded by loved ones on May 3, 2026. She was born on September 26, 1960, in Waco, Texas, to George Cornett and Myrtel Brummet Cornett.

Shirley was a loving mother, wife, grandmother, and cherished family member. She had a heart full of love for her family and a spirit that touched those around her. Her life was marked by the deep care she gave to the people she loved, and she will be remembered for the warmth, strength, and devotion she shared with her family throughout her life.

Shirley was preceded in death by her beloved husband, David Allen Weir; her daughter, Valerie Marie Weir; her son, Heath Allen Weir; and her grandson, Nathan Allen Weir. Though their loss brought great sorrow, her family takes comfort in knowing she is now reunited with those she loved so dearly.

She was a proud grandmother to Kayla Broadbent, Hailey Pettorini, Shanna Weir-Venegas, Coby Weir, Chase Weir, Madeline Weir, Budro Boyett, Ashton Draper, NyKeviah Brown, Kanisha Brown, and Brylie Weir.

She is also survived by many loving family members and friends who will continue to carry her memory in their hearts.

The family would like to extend a special thank you to Providence Ascension Hospice Care for their kindness, compassion, and great attention given to Shirley during her final moments.

Shirley’s love will live on through her children, grandchildren, and all those blessed to know her. Her memory will remain a beautiful reminder of the love she gave, the family she cherished, and the life she lived.
