Terry was a great friend and brother. If he was your family or friend he would do anything he could to help you. He was generous to a fault. Terry served honorably in the U.S. Navy from 1966-1970. He was stationed at Yuma, AZ Naval Station after basic training, then he transferred to the USS Kearsarge where he served during the Vietnam War. He received the Vietnam Service Medal, several Bronze Stars, and the Armed Forces Expeditionary Medal Korea. He took care of his parents during the end of their lives. Terry was a quiet man who loved to laugh and joke. He was a hard worker. He worked for Frankenburger Gulf while in high school, William Cameron Company, Katy Railroad, Brown and Root Construction, Fleetwood Manufacturing, and WalMart where he retired in 2009.
He is preceded in death by his parents Henry Carl McKinney and Ruth Jeanette Varner McKinney and a brother James Glen McKinney. He is survived by brothers Henry Wayne McKinney and wife Janet, Steven Charles McKinney, Timothy Carl McKinney and wife Marilyn, and numerous nieces and nephews. He is also survived by his best friend for 58 years, Barry Todar. Barry was always available and helpful to Terry.
